Members will wish to know that, Hugh Playfair, founder of our Trust and Chairman for many years, died peacefully on 21st December 2017. Hugh was the inspiration and guide of the Trust. His vision for the future of our churches and chapels is described in his own words...'a glorious and sustainable future in which the buildings, made fit for today’s purpose, is shared with the community’… but remaining … ’a sanctuary for worship, prayer and reflection’. Our thoughts and prayers are with Hugh’s wife, Bridget, and their children and grandchildren.

Autumn Talk becomes Singalong

We ended our 2017 programme with a most successful talk and organ recital by Ray Willis at The Bishop's Palace Chapel in Wells on Friday 24th November with everyone joining in a rendition of The Old Hundredth to demonstrate the development of church music down the ages. New Facilities for St John's Horsington

The need to replace rotting wooden floor supports in the South Aisle and under the Parish Room has resulted in major improvements including the provision of a servery and WC. The new facilities were dedicated in August 2016 by Archdeacon Nicola Sullivan. Click on the heading for more information.

Ride+Stride Update

For the first time in the history of the event we are giving awards for both the individual and the church that raises the most money in sponsorship. As well as a certificate a cup will be presented to the winners at a ceremony at out next Annual meeting on 8th April 2017.

Our new Treasurer, Tony Davies is no stranger to Ride + Stride

We are very pleased to welcome our new treasurer, Tony Davies. Tony lives in Bath and is also treasurer of Langridge church, possibly the most northerly church in Somerset and certainly one of the smallest and oldest.
